How does it work? LifeSafetyNET is a wireless alarm monitoring communications network based solely on radio technology. This keeps it from becoming obsolete because of technology standards like AMPS, VoIP, GSM or even plain old standard telephone service.
This mesh radio system was originally built for demanding military applications by AES-Intellinet and has been tested to the highest possible standards. It's UL 864 Listed and NFPA compliant. The LifeSafetyNET radio mesh network is a rugged, robust, mesh of radio paths linking a host of individual transceivers to the Alarm Center, your U.L. Central Station.
The mesh radio configuration means your alarm signals aren't confined to just one route to the Alarm Center. Multiple pathways become available through the mesh radio network which creates redundancy for all of your transceiver alarm signals so they'll get through to the Alarm Center reliably. If an alarm signal route is blocked from a transceiver to the Alarm Center the network automatically "self-heals" to find an alternate path instantaneously.
The Alarm Center owns LifeSafetyNET, so we are able to maintain control over the entire communications process for your alarm signals. Because it's radio based, there is no need for telephone or cellular services to communicate your alarm signal, saving you money.
Unlike other alarm monitoring technologies, LifeSafetyNET is a 2-way communications system. This allows regular acknowledgement messages to be sent from the Alarm Center back and forth to the individual transceivers in the network so we know the system and each individual transceiver is working properly.
LifeSafetyNET is infinitely scaleable. When a new transceiver is installed at a new location, it automatically self-enrolls in the Alarm Center's mesh radio network and every transceiver that is added makes even more pathways to get your alarm signals to the Alarm Center. LifeSafetyNET currently covers from Bellingham to Portland up and down the I-5 corridor.
Alarm signal speed to the Alarm Center is a huge benefit. An alarm signal via telephone or cellular can take up to 45 seconds to connect to the Alarm Center. Your alarm signal over the mesh radio network generally connects to the Alarm Center in 1 to 3 seconds. When you consider that a fire can double in size and intensity every 30 seconds, having a LifeSafetyNET transceiver on the account could mean the difference between life and death.
